Christopher Garoni completed his Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast and has experience working with clients across the lifespan in both public and private settings. Chris also has extensive experience in developing behavioural programs to assist children and adolescents with special needs.
Chris has a warm and friendly therapeutic style, and a passion for developing a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients from all walks of life. He uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Mindfulness strategies. Chris has experience in working with mood and anxiety disorders, stress, grief and loss issues, substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, intellectual disabilities, and adjustment issues, as well as providing cognitive assessments. Chris has additional experience in providing treatment to adolescents engaging in self-harm, and individuals in palliative care. Chris is passionate about his work and takes pride in providing a space where clients can feel comfortable and safe while working towards their treatment goals.
